Can I use ammonium sulfate to grow grapes?

Ammonium sulfate can be used to grow grapes.

Grapes, as a chlorine-avoiding and sulfur-loving crop, have a high demand for elemental sulfur. The flavor, texture and nutrient content of grapes are all related to sulfur fertilization. Inadequate sulfur fertilization can affect the taste and flavor of grapes and reduce the quality and yield of grapes.

The main reason for this is that sulfur is a component of grape fruit and other organ proteins, which usually contain between 0.3% and 3.2% sulfur, and sulfur deficiency decreases grape quality. Sulfur is present in the grape plant in a reduced state; sulfur is the main component of vitamin B1 and is involved in redox in the same way as iron in plant physiology.

The application of ammonium sulfate promotes protein synthesis and increases the yield of grapes. It also has an important role in the sturdy quality of grapes and can improve their resistance to pests and diseases.

When the sulfur fertilizer in the soil does not meet the needs of the grapes, ammonium sulfate should be applied. If you have a need for ammonium sulfate now, contact us.
